How to store Mounjaro at home

How to travel with Mounjaro or Wegovy
Plan travel around temperature, documentation and access. The aim is to keep the medicine within the correct temperature range, avoid freezing, and keep it available if your checked luggage is delayed or lost.
- Keep the pen in its original packaging with the pharmacy label where possible.
- Carry the medication you need for the journey in your hand luggage, not loose in a suitcase.
- Use an insulated medication pouch or cool bag with cooling gel packs, but keep a barrier between the pen and the cold pack so the medicine does not freeze.
- Keep the pen out of direct sunlight, away from heaters, car glove boxes, windowsills and hot hotel rooms.
- Take a copy of your prescription or a letter from your prescriber, especially for international travel or where airport staff ask for proof.
- Check airline, airport and destination-country rules before travelling, particularly if you are carrying needles, cooling packs or more than a small personal supply.
GOV.UK guidance says essential medicines and hypodermic syringes are allowed in hand luggage and hold luggage.
